The first course on sustainable healthcare in the country launched at Semmelweis University

A new, English-language elective course named Sustainability in Healthcare has been launched by the Health Services Management Training Centre (EMK) of Semmelweis University. The course is unique not only at university level, but also nationally since there has been no such among medical school courses.

The aim of the course is to produce economically responsible, environmentally aware professionals who are committed to sustainability as a fundamental principle of quality healthcare. The medical instructors for the course are Dr. Nora Boussoussou, Ambassador of the Planetary Health Alliance at Harvard University, and Gabriella Sódar, representative of the Blue Planet Foundation.

The elective course in English is available to students enrolled in the university’s Hungarian and foreign language programmes, from the spring semester of the 2021/2022 academic year.
