The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme was established by the Hungarian Government to promote the internationalisation of Hungarian higher education and to attract top foreign students from all around the world. During the scholarship programme, students can establish personal and professional attachments to Hungary while enjoying high-quality education in the heart of Europe. When the graduates return to their home countries with marketable skills and knowledge, they can build civil, political and economic relationships, contributing to Hungary’s image and recognition abroad.
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship today is the most prestigious higher education scholarship programme of the Hungarian Government that offers a wide range of courses for international students with an excellent academic track record.
The scholarship is already available on five continents in almost 80 countries and territories, attracting more than 5000 international students each year. Currently, there are 29 Hungarian higher education institutions engaged in the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme with more than 600 study programmes covering all higher education fields at all degree levels, including part-time and doctoral programmes and conducted primarily in English.
