Behavioural therapy against ageing with dogs
It is well known that getting plenty of exercise and mental training are important for a long and healthy life. But which is more effective? Do the tasks develop abilities that go beyond them?
Ethologists at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) studied the effects of cognitive, physical or combined therapy on elderly dogs. World-class robotic surgery at the University of Debrecen
The Da Vinci robot-assisted surgical system has arrived at the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre. The 21st-century, state-of-the-art technology is used primarily in general surgery, as well as surgical procedures.
“The system provides the surgeon with an extremely precise and safe surgical technique. This reduces blood loss during the operation, reduces the likelihood of complications, and shortens the hospital stay after the operation and the recovery time,” said Dezső Tóth, Director of the Department of Surgery at the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre, who is also the head of the Robotic Surgery Centre.
Exam Period: Fast food, sugar or caffeine may worsen your performance
While foods that are nutritious, rich in vitamins, and high in fibre stimulate brain function, insufficient hydration, too much sugar, and overindulgence in fast foods and processed foods may reduce concentration. Dr. Zsanett Bodor, a Semmelweis University dietitian, also warns that excessive caffeine consumption could lead to insomnia, while adequate sleep is a major contributor to proper brain function.
If you need help with how to eat during the exam period, the dietitian also provides an example of the ideal meal plan during the day.
