Óbuda University Hosts China-Hungary Symposium
Óbuda University has made a significant mark in advancing China-Hungary scientific and technological cooperation. On April 7, 2025, it hosted a high-level symposium following the university’s leadership visit to Wuxi, China. The event focused on innovation, research collaboration, and industrial development, strengthening the bonds between Hungarian and Chinese academic communities.

University of Pannonia Visits the United States
Across the Atlantic, a delegation from the University of Pannonia traveled to Philadelphia, United States from March 31 to April 3, 2025. In partnership with the Ministry of Public Administration and Regional Development, the visit promoted new educational and research collaborations. Special focus areas included climate change, water treatment, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and social innovation.

University of Pécs Builds Dental Exchange Program
In Western Hungary, the University of Pécs welcomed a delegation from the University of Rennes’ Faculty of Dentistry. The initiative, part of the EDUC European Digital University Alliance, aims to build a bilateral academic exchange program focusing on dental education and clinical training. This collaboration promises to enhance learning experiences and clinical competencies across borders.

Semmelweis University Deepens German Ties
Semmelweis University is working to strengthen German-Hungarian educational relations. Under a new agreement with the district of Günzburg in Bavaria, the district will fund the tuition fees for two German students studying at Semmelweis. In the long term, the program could expand, further boosting Semmelweis University’s prestigious international student body.

ELTE Expands African Partnerships
Guided by its Africa Strategy, Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) hosted 26 representatives from 16 South African universities and organizations in early April, discussing opportunities for further student mobility and joint research programs. The participants agreed to explore student exchange programs and joint research opportunities between ELTE and members of the Universities of South Africa (USAf) at the faculty and disciplinary levels.

MATE Strengthens Ties with Kyrgyzstan
Last but not least, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) is building bridges in Central Asia. Rector Dr. Csaba Gyuricza visited the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU) at the beginning of April 2025, aiming to boost cooperation in agricultural education and research. A highlight of the visit was the signing of the agreement on the establishment of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Center for Innovation in Agrarian Science and Education and the official opening of the research centre. The centre aims to promote joint research and development activities in the fields of sustainable agriculture, agrobiotechnology, seed production and intensive horticulture.
