The employment of the civil servants of András Pető College at Semmelweis University will be implemented according to the Labour Law. The takeover of personnel will take place without any reductions in the workforce.
The primary, secondary and higher educational contents and locations of the former András Pető College do not change, therefore the Institute of Conductive Development of András Pető College will operate similarly as earlier. The Institute of Conductive Development of András Pető College, which includes the conductive developmental institutions (kindergarden, school) and the Education Centre, will be part of András Pető Faculty of Semmelweis University.
The discussions related to the opportunities of a mutually advantageous merger, which were initiated by the maintainer, started in November 2016 between the leadership of Semmelweis University and András Pető College. On April 20-21, 2017 the Senate of both institutions had negotiations regarding the proposal of a merger and the decision-making bodies supported the merger with declarations of intent. Following the preparatory work, the organizational establishment of the integration has recently been completed.
After the merger, the number of the faculties of Semmelweis University has now become six: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health and Public Services and András Pető Faculty.
Semmelweis University and András Pető College have had long-standing scientific and professional relations in the framework of several Hungarian and international projects. The activities of the institutions do not only supplement each other’s work. With the merger there will be new opportunities for the provision of higher-quality educational-, research- and developmental tasks in the fields of orthopaedics, neuroscience, motion development, complex rehabilitation and paediatrics, from the age of infancy to adult age.
