The University of Debrecen among the best
The University of Debrecen is among the best 200 institutes in four scientific fields in the higher education ranking in 2015.

The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings has published the ranking of the best seven hundred universities worldwide in each year for more than ten years. This is the fifth time that the higher education institutes were ranked according to scientific fields as well. 894 institutes were ranked on the list from 3551 universities considering citation indicators. Last year five, this year eight Hungarian universities were included in the list with the University of Debrecen among the best two hundred in four scientific fields – linguistics, medical science, pharmacy and pharmacology, agriculture and forestry.

This summary gives first place nationally for the University of Debrecen in the 2015 ranking in the field of biological sciences. It is placed second in Hungary in the fields of linguistics, medical science and agriculture and forestry. Ranking among the best 350 institutes in pharmacy and pharmacology, mathematics, physics and astronomy means third place in Hungary.

The University of Debrecen received excellent classification in – among others – architecture and built environment, history of arts, English language and literature, dental sciences, communication and media science, economics, sociology and statistics.

Paula Louw’s story about Szentendre

„As soon as you get off the train, leave the station and start wandering through the cobblestoned streets you can feel Szentendre’s laid-back atmosphere. The streets in the town are filled with brightly coloured buildings, historic churches, sculptures, cafés and interesting shops. One of the most iconic and unique sights of the town center are the large, colourful mismatched lamp shades strewn above the streets.”

One of our Campus Buddy volunteers, Paula Louw from South-Africa has written a wonderful review about this mediterranean-like city, Szentendre, which has many things to offer for travallers. This town has its own unique atmosphere as several folks lived here throughout history.
