Semmelweis University has been recently ranked in an international ranking

Semmelweis University has been recently ranked as the 604th in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) prepared by Middle East Technical University located in Ankara. The ranking list has been developed on the basis of the number of scientific publications and that of citation indexes. Altogether nine Hungarian universities were listed in this recent ranking, out of which five were ranked among the best 800 higher-education institutions.

During the preparation of the ranking list the employees of the University of Ankara surveyed 3000 institutions worldwide. In the ranking list prepared on the basis of the amount and quality of scientific publications altogether 2000 higher-education institutions are listed. Out of the Hungarian universities the following higher-education institutions were ranked: Eötvös Loránd University as the 586th, Semmelweis University as the 604th, the University of Debrecen as the 620th, the University of Szeged as the 662nd, Budapest University of Technology and Economics as the 775th, the University of Pécs as the 905th, Szent István University as the 1533rd, Central European University as the 1655th and Corvinus University as the 1821st. The top three ranking places are occupied by Harvard University, the University of Toronto and Oxford University.

Paula Louw’s story about Szentendre

„As soon as you get off the train, leave the station and start wandering through the cobblestoned streets you can feel Szentendre’s laid-back atmosphere. The streets in the town are filled with brightly coloured buildings, historic churches, sculptures, cafés and interesting shops. One of the most iconic and unique sights of the town center are the large, colourful mismatched lamp shades strewn above the streets.”

One of our Campus Buddy volunteers, Paula Louw from South-Africa has written a wonderful review about this mediterranean-like city, Szentendre, which has many things to offer for travallers. This town has its own unique atmosphere as several folks lived here throughout history.
