Huawei launches new scholarship programme at Széchenyi University, Győr

Széchenyi István University has joined Huawei Technologies global university cooperation programme. The SEEDs scholarship programme, worth tens of millions of forints, aims to support talent development, and student research on the industrial applications of 5G, and can also be used for student projects that include the development of test applications.

The Huawei SEEDs Scholarship Programme was launched in 2021 in twelve countries across Europe to help the most talented and ambitious students develop their careers.

The cooperation between Huawei and the University of Győr started in 2014, with the first Seeds for the Future programme in Hungary, which has taken several students on study trips to China. In 2016, the company donated a high computing capacity computer to the University, and in 2020, the Huawei ICT Academy educational programme was launched at the University, in which teachers and students can learn the new trends of 5G technology, ig Data and Artificial Intelligence.

This new scholarship programme supports student research on the industrial applications of 5G, such as in rail logistics, manufacturing and warehousing. The scholarship fund, worth tens of millions of forints, can also be used for student projects that include the development of test applications, including Huawei's own operating system, Harmony OS.
