Further increase of the number of Stipendium Hungaricum applications

The second round of applications has closed in the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme.

By the deadline of 19 March 2018, more than 130 additional applications has arrived from the four countries that newly joined the Programme - namely from Argentina, Cuba, Eritrea and Malaysia. This number added to the result of the first application round in February means more than 28.500 submitted applications for the academic year of 2018-19.

Now only Shanghai students have the opportunity to submit their documents until 30 March 2018.

The nomination lists of the Sending Partners are going to arrive soon as well. The nominations of the Sending Partners will determine for the applicants if they can continue the process with taking the entrance examinations to the selected universities and colleges or not.

APAIE exhibition

Ten Hungarian higher education institutions were represented at the 13th APAIE Conference and Exhibition, which was hosted by Singapore between 25-29 March 2018. Study in Hungary also participated in the event together with more than 100 other exhibitors.

Department of Biophysics and Radiation Biology

The main concept of the opening of the biophysical research centre with the total value of 1,5 billion Forints equipment pool was to answer a scientific question from the molecular level to the patient’s bed via animal tests. The name giver of the new centre is György Békésy, the Hungarian biophysicist, who received Nobel-Prize in medicine-physiology in 1961.

Further relations in medical studies

Ghazizadeh Hashemi, Minister of Health and Medical Education of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has visited Semmelweis University. The visit was organized by the Ministry of Human Capacities of Hungary, and the delegation was welcomed by Rector Ágoston Szél. In the framework of the meeting, a mutually agreed Memorandum of Understanding was signed.
