Meet our international alumni volunteer: Feifei Wang

Feifei Wang is a 27 years old girl. She is Chinese while she lives in Hungary right now in the capital city, Budapest. She studied public health during her master’s study in University of Debrecen.

Why did you choose Hungary?

The most important reason is that the expenses here are not as high as in west Europe, which is affordable. And I fall in love with the weather here, it is comfortable all the year round.

Where did you learn about the Stipendium Hungaricum application opportunity?

I know this program from Chinese government, and also searched details from an agency.

Why did you choose Stipendium Hungaricum? What advantages does it have?

Firstly, the diploma is accepted in my home country, secondly, I love my major, and as I know, medicine education in Hungary is highly appreciated in Europe.

Why did you choose the given university?

My major (public health) in University of Debrecen is much better than other universities in Hungary.

How would you describe the chosen university and the quality of education there?

The lecturers are nice and patient, they give me a different way of thinking, which is better achievement than knowledge. The quality of education is satisfying, and worthwhile.

How did you feel yourself in Hungary?

My coordinator said they want more students like me because I am nice and easy to make friends with. My school performance is good and I always wear smiling. I really enjoy the time in Hungary and feel satisfied about myself.

How would you describe Hungary and Hungarian people?

Hungary is beautiful, the living pace is slow, the people are nice, they always would like to help.

What was your best experience in Hungary?

When I first came to Hungary, I lost my way, and I did not have a phone and had no internet, a native Hungarian people took me back home even he did not know me, and he just knew I need help. He was so helpful and kind. I cannot forget this experience ever. It is not easy to trust a stranger and foreigner, the man trusted me, and helped me, I feel warm and it is hard to describe the feeling, it is much more like a motivation to be good, to behave nice.

There is one impressive experience: when we do statistical research, we always use confidence interval and p-value to assess our data, I do not know the theoretical reasons and just know how to use it before having the biostatistics lecture where the teacher taught us why and how. I think it was amazing.

Why is it important and good for you to be the member of the international alumni network?

I think it is fresh for me since I have no volunteer experience until now, it is attractive when something is new for me. Nevertheless, the Stipendium Scholarship helped me finish my study and gain me wonderful memories both in study and life, I feel appreciated to Hungarian government, so I want to give something good back to help those who need pieces of advice.

What plans do you have for the future?

I plan to continue with my further studies in Hungary.
