The fair was organised by the Delegation of the European Union in Japan in two cities; Tokyo and Kyoto. More than 1300 students took part in the event and visited the ~70 exhibiting booths from 22 different European countries in total. Apart from the national and university booths, the EU DEL (Erasmus+, Horizon2020, Euraxess), the Japan Student Services Organization and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan was also present.
Hungary was represented at the Study in Hungary booth by the Embassy of Hungary in Tokyo, the University of Pécs, the University of Szeged and the Budapest Business School and all interested Japanese students could gather detailed information about the opportunities and characteristics of the Hungarian higher education, including the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme.
The main aim of the fair was to promote the higher education and the available study programmes of the European Union and its member states. As part of the opening event, the Japanese higher education institutions (more than 20) could also introduce their university programmes and profiles as well as build partnerships with European – including Hungarian – institutions during the networking and matchmaking session.
